On Thursday 9 October, 12 of our Year 9 students took part in BEfest, a hands-on event all about careers in construction, engineering, sustainability and more. Students explored different jobs, took part in practical activities, and spoke to professionals from across the Built Environment.
Here’s what some of them had to say:
💬 “I liked the bricklaying – it was fun!”
💬 “I learned about road signs and powerplants I didn’t know before.”
💬 “The best part was building a tower to protect an egg!”
💬 “I feel more confident about my future now.”
💬 “I enjoyed talking to people about their jobs.”
💬 “It made me think more about what I want to do when I’m older.”
It was a great day that helped students think about their futures in a fun and engaging way.

On 1 October, some of our Year 8 students explored careers in science, technology, and business at Brooklands Museum! They took part in hands-on workshops, met professionals from Haleon, McLaren, and BAE Systems, and discovered how school subjects connect to real jobs.
